A good experience with VIP Marina

Had a really awesome day on the lake on Saturday, stayed out until somewhere around 10:30 and pulled back in to the slip. I hopped out, turned on the blowers for the lift and it was just blowing bubbles. I yanked on one of the lines, sure enough it had blown the hose clamp off.
The next day I pulled the boat forward, tried diving and there was no way I was getting down there long enough to work. I asked the office for some help or tips, expecting to be told to hire someone to fix it. But nope, Bill the manager came over, looked at it. Grabbed his scuba gear, hopped in the water (in street clothes) and put it back on.
Very cool of him to help like that when I am sure it wasn't convenient on such a busy weekend.
Great marina experience so far.

That is awesome! I wish the marina I had my boat in for the weekend on Belton was that cool. Silly slip didn't even have cleats or anything! And the going rate for a year was like 350 a month wet.

Sounds like you need to hit up Bob at West Beach Marina and get a good deal at a way more fun lake

Well im out of town. bugt this will probably finally get me to move. no body wants to take responsiblilty. the funny thing is that, ive been getting on the person that i have as a partner about wiping the boat down after she uses it, so she sends me pictures when she brings it in. and i can clearly see how she ties the boat up and its perfect no reason it should have just gotten free. which is what they like to say.

I would make a post with the marina name and what happened in the subject so people can find it on Google. At least warn others.

Evan, Who owns the lift you or the marina? If the marina owns it I would expect the guy to fix it like he did. If you own it he deserves the compliment. Your lucky the boat wasn't on it when it let go. Your boat may have been adrift too.
Livesound, I don't know any details about what happened to your boat drifting but, I can add this. I have worked at dry stacks for more than a dozen years. I figure 1 in about 30 know how to properly tie up a boat. I used to come in the morning and find boats drifting all the time. Never the less it was cool Ericsons guys towed it in for you.

It's my lift, so yes, extra cool of them! Yeah that's some scary stuff, I make extra sure she's got ropes on when I put her away for that reason.

when leaving over night, we tie in 3 paces front (for some reason mastercraft didn't feel it important to put a cleat there so it goes through the hand rail, center cleat and rear cleat. roger (manager there) showed me and her how to tie up for the night, and the way it knots i would think it couldn't get loose, but at the same time i don't claim to be an expert. but they also had a ton if problems that morning. the cat they use had a problem and they had a wheel fall off there trailer. bottom line when i ask what happened i got blank stares all around.
