I would also be interested in knowing how many people who are planning to attend will be joining the floating "mosh pit" in front of the stage or will opt to stay in their boat.

I like to party, so I'll go where the action is but the plan right now is looking to be hanging on the boat. We should have a great line of fun boats.

what are your plans hydro?

To provide the boaters with a little "heads up" info on utilizing the rafting lines at the event.

We're going, a friend from another board in Dallas is bringing his boat, potentially some friends from Colorado with a boat. I think we'll mainly hang around the boats, but we are thinking of buying a raft to check out up near the stage.

Add us to the list. Any good info ahead of time would be a big help for our planning.

Rafting lines open to the public at noon on Friday. Some musical acts will perform on Friday and vendor areas on land will be open. Keep in mind that the floating lines provided are for the purpose of assisting the boaters in the rafting of their boats but it will be the responsibility of the captain of the boat to properly anchor their vessel.

It will be impossible in the space they alot us to get a really good set.  The area looks to be about 80' deep and the space between lines, when filled with boats, looks maybe 50-60 feet (using last years pictures).  I'm guessing the best we will be able to do is secure the rafting line at the stern and swim an anchor out as far as we can toward the next line, but NOT under what will be the stern of the opposite boat.  I'd like to have out at LEAST 250' of rode for that depth, but will be lucky to be able to use 100'.  The cumulative effect of the raft, rafting lines, and anchors should be OK though.

Of course, if it comes a storm Friday night, we're screwed. Roll Eyes

I was wondering about the same thing, because like you, I'm planning on staying on the boat overnight and don't want any surprises! Smiley I hope the rafts are far enough apart I don't have to worry about someone running over my anchor rode because I have so much rode out.

The deepest area of the rafting lines will be 80'. depending on the lake level at the time of the event. The average depth should be around 35'. Boaters are going to have to make the best of a tough situation of the promoters attempt to have potentially several thousand vessels assembled in an organized manner. No small task. Let's keep any moaning and groaning to a minimum. I think it's important to remember that Sea Ray is spending wads of money to provide lake lovers a free, repeat free, two days worth of summer fun.
