That Rage is a nice looking boat but that cuddy looks practically useless.

It really depends on what you had in mind for the cabin.  It's a good place for the kids to get out of the sun.  One of the biggest problems with the boat is the lack of storage for skis, wakeboards, etc.  If you have a place on the beach to keep all the toys and you can just keep a couple in the boat then it's not a problem.  Unfortunately there are not a lot of those situations here in Texas and few of us have the lake house.  Ours becomes a big open ski locker that we trip over trying to transit fore and aft.

That being said the boat is smoking fast, good looking and provides all the space we need taking out the seven of us on a regular basis.  Three of our kids learned ski behind it over our recent vacation.

There are compromises with all boats it's just about what's important to you.

I'm on my 2nd Rage and love it. I have the open bow and the mid cabin is ok, I store a wakeboard above one of the seats. Seems like we mostly just use a tube anymore though and I just deflate it and put it under the engine hatch.

I may build a rack to hold the ski in the mid-cabin or I may just take it out. Seems like we always have more than enough ski/wake board boats around to do all the skiing we want to do.

Getting to talk to you about the difference between the boats was a big help. As was being able to check out the layout of In2Deep's Nordic in person. I definitely want to see what the ride is like compared to mine. I'm sure much smoother, just wonder how much! I'll have to figure the Rage would be somewhere in between.

The Heat is a full size 28 whereas the Rage is a smallish 25 compared to a Shockwave Tremor etc. That being said the Heat will crush the rough stuff compared to the Rage IMO, but the Rage is a Hot Rod for sure. The previous Rage I had ran 95 on GPS and handled it well compared to other V Hulls I have been in/driven.

I like this setup.

I don't believe I would want to go that fast on the water.  At about 60 my common sense kicks in.

I've only done high speed in a 38' -- which was built to go fast -- but I can tell you that speed on the water is addictive.  As long as a hull can handle, and the motor/drive/prop set-up is tuned to the horsepower, and with some seat-time to get used to things....clipping along at a high rate safetly is possible.

But with speed comes budget -- and I have none.
Hence....I"m a bone-stocker and am happy at my 63.4 MPH average top-end.

That's plenty good, I've been in the lower part of the 50s in my boat and that was pleeeeeeenty. That was on perfectly glassy water hoping to hell I don't catch a wave LOL

Did 120 MPH on the water once with the infamous Keith Sayre, Lake Havasu boat salesman extraordinaire, in a 1500 HP 25 foot Talon. It was a trip for sure.

Mother of god. That's a monster. I wonder how much boost that is pushing?

I've wondered on boats like that, isn't there a worry of sucking up water with that exposed intake?
