Yeah, it looks like a pro job. Looks like you'll have no trouble with the interior on the Chaparral.

thank you. I have done a few and I think I am getting decent at them. the interioe will diffently be fun, right now I am trying make up my mind if I want a L-shaped seat that runs along the back and side with a single chair for the driver. Or a rounded seat on the back with two single chairs for driver and passanger. both will start in front of the engine. the engine will be covered by a sundeck instead of the standard dog house with rear jump seats. I am also going to either use some left over laminate wood flooring or just stick down title squares that look like wood. I am leaning towards the L-shaped because it will make for more seating room.
here is a picture I found of the original interior on the chaparral. mine will be more modern and sleek. I maybe removing the wood rail to make it sleek looking. I just think it is out of place especially when i add the sundeck. what do yall think?

I like the idea of the L shaped seating. That's the best use of space that I can think of. Getting rid of the wooden railing is a good idea too. It doesn't look like the boat needs a railing and less is more when it comes to stuff like that.

I am leaning that way. I still can't believe that with a boat this big the original seating setup was two jump seats, a back to back seat and a captains chair. only four passangers seat and one driver. only 5 people could would have a seat on the boat unless they road in the cabin. and no one will be riding in the cabin when I am behind the wheel. hoping for 5 or 6 passanger seats and the captain chair and sun deck tha two can lay on.

Nice upholstery job and a great project.
Need to get a couple of my seats done and took them by Jim's Top Shop on Monday. He doesn't do boats anymore
, so I'm looking at Cecil's or Grateful Thread.

Check out Cardenas Upholstery on Jim Hogg Blvd. That's a little alley by Burnet and North Loop. Best in town. Don't expect much from the shop, but he's the best. Been using him for upholstery for 20 years. Very reasonable too.

Can you let me know what you pay? I have a hole in one of my seats and have been putting off fixing it.

Thanks for the tip Outlaw. I wish I would of waiting but I took them over to Cecils Wednesday and he said I should have them back end of next week. Sun pad and two bench seat tops. Going to try and use the same foam. New wood and marine fabric....$700.
Captain,
You might try some of this for that tear....it works great on cracks/tears.

How does it work? Simply glues it together or does it fill gaps a bit?

Yep, it kind of mends/ melts the vinyl together.
I used it on my some of my cracked vinyl on my ten year old sun deck. It wasn't 100% visually perfect, but it did keep it from splitting more and it kept the water out.

That would be absolutely what I need for my sun deck. I have a tiny little opening on a seam and that would be just right. I don't want to know what new sun deck vinyl costs.
