Lake Travis Water Levels:
Jan 9

April of 2010 Lake Travis was over 681 which is 100% full. The big question I have tonight is how long it could take to bring this lake back to the 660 levels. Since 1942 this has been the median average where the lake normally would be this time of year on average. Since I am not from Austin and not too familiar with Travis can somebody give me feedback on what a good year of rain would do? This drought has been very bad and rainfall just seems to go around Austin or at least the hill country.

it would take a flood up stream to fill travis back up. the normal rain fall would not bring it to full pool. the last time the lake was full happen right after a flood of granite shoals and lake LBJ. once the lake is back to full it can stay there if there is no more drought issues. the normal rain fall can keep it full but not fill it up.

This lake is a strange one. We could easily complain all winter and one freak storm could drop 15 feet of water in it.
Last time we had full pool like Nathan said, we had what was left of a hurricane blow through and it flooded EVERYWHERE. I had a foot and a half of water rushing by my back door in Round Rock.
