Congrats on the new truck. I'll be anxiously awaiting your report on your first launch at Highland Lakes. I cruised by there during the Labor Day weekend. Looks like they extended the ramp a little. Watched them launch a dry dock'er with their Blazer. Back wheels were in the gravel but the front tires stayed on the concrete. Water level was 621.23 that day.

I watched a few boats being pulled out at Emerald Point on Mon. It had just rained and the "ramp" was a bit soupy. All were 4wd 3/4 ton trucks and they had no problem. A couple even had regular street tires. Gives me hope.

The tires that come on 4x4 trucks do just fine. There is no need to get off road tires on a 4x4 to pull boats. Its the weight over the forward drive axle that makes the difference. Not how aggressive the tread is. IMO off road tires have an negative effect. They usually suck on wet surfaces.

A 3/4 ton and up is always a plus when towing. Primarily but, not limited to the heavier brakes and the increased durability of the bigger hub assemblies.
