Wow, that sucks. Bob is a great guy, I am sure he will hook you up. I blame injector problems on Ethanol. Stuff is bad juju. You just refreshing the one engine? Maybe now you should stroke the both of them lol.

Yeah Bob couldn't say enough bad things about ethanol and injectors. Injector testing will be every other year for now on for me. It's a real bummer, I try very hard to go over-kill on maintenance. I had no idea this was an issue but he says he has been doing a lot of business because of it. Got a bad call from Bob today about the prospects for the other engine. It's coming out now.
Now that they are both out, things may be getting real serious.

Well, it sucks to be down for a while, but now is the time for any sort of upgrades. Just let me know what you do so I can work out something on my end.

Bummer. Was the cyl wall and valves ok? That's very similar to what happened on one of my carb'ed engs when the fuel press got too low.
See top right corner of pic. You can see where a piece broke off and got fused to the top of the piston. Luckily the valves and cyl wall were fine.
I'd suggest getting an extra set of injs. That way you can swap them out and send the dirty ones out for cleaning and flow testing. That's what I do with my Camaro.

Ouch! That's not pretty. That's pretty lucky it broke away clean and didn't cause more trouble.
Waiting on the second engine to come out, but the port engine is getting bored out to a 383. The chunk dinged up the cylinder wall a bit.
