i have been working today
Oct 27th, 2012 at 3:43pm

ok I am back from Arizona and ready to work.  I changed the fuel filter on the lil red then started on the hawk.

I got all the old wiring removed, the old frozen steering cable, control box.  also removed the console and all wires going to the motor so when I get a motor stand build I can take it off.   all this so I can get this ready to redo the carpet.

Is it one of those projects that don't seem like a lot of work at first then it gets out of hand?

Damn, Nathan.  You have a quite a project ahead of you.  What are your plans with this one?  Personal boat or will you sell?

no I pretty much I had already planned to redo all the wiring and steering cable.  I had actually planned for the worst but I have been pleasantly surprised on this one.  It had set outside for about five years and had about three inches of leaves, dirt, and vegetation in it.  I figured it would be total destroyed.  I am keeping this one because it was given to me by my dad.  plus that these are one of my favorite type of boats for fishing as it floats shallow and is easy to get in to the back woods and streams. I may end up buying a cheap boat with a running motor and trolling motor to strip for this boat then resale the other hull.

here is the boat I traded for old timer.  this was a great fishing boat.

I was able to get some work done today.  I removed the inner skin trying to save the transom to use as a templete.  but this thing is wet from top to bottom and the part that touches the outside is almost mush.  so saving it may not be an option anymore but I am going to still try.

I plan to finish both!  this one is in the memory of my father because it is what he wanted to do to it.
