We really need it to rain up stream. the last time it flooded in marble falls is when the lake came up the quickest. If the rain comes from upstream they can let the pool just fill to were if it all comes local they have to be careful and let water sooner to make sure everything is safe. in austin.

Definitely it needs to hit hard upstream. But I can't imagine they need to let water out of Travis to keep Austin safe.

If there is a chance of hard rain (like what we need) in austin they lower the water level in lake austin to make sure that it will be safe for the people that lives on the lake. I have seen them let a bunch of water out of austin and then the heavy rain they were expecting not come below the dam. they then needed to fill back up lake austin so travis did not rise hardly any. if the heavy rain comes upstream they do not have to let any extra water out of austin or travis so travis can just fill up.
