Who is done for the year?

Most of my buddies have winterized (that term seems funny since it's only a few months) and are done for the year. How about everyone here?

I have not grasped the whole winterize concept here in Austin. I moved up here from the coast to take over the business and found that after Labor Day, it shuts down. This is perfect boating weather, cool temps, sunny, and calm waters. I guess here is more of a vacation destination.

Pulled the PWCs out for the year Tuesday.  Water temp was 69 and it felt freaking cold!  Getting around to splashing the big boat soon.

No kidding, it's awesome. I love being able to cruise past of the Cove at 40 MPH and not be hopping across 4 foot swells.

I'm about to winterize just because none of my friends want to go out anymore. I don't understand it. All my friends from Colorado would be excited about this boating weather, this is like Colorado in July LOL

Not yet.   Not sure if we will get out again.   I would love too, but the kids will probably veto me.

Target date for winterizing is Thanksgiving weekend.

I do treat my fuel ( I highly recommend this with the ethenol fuel mixture now days), fog the carb, pull the water pump hose and drain plugs.   Takes fifteen minutes and gives me peace of mind.

If I have some extra time, I'll throw some wax on her.

Hunter from South Austin Marine checked in on my boat a couple weeks ago and I told him about my fuel pump going out. He says that because the ethanol level is so high now, that it's causing fuel system problems in boats and they are recommending that you treat every tank of fuel now. Not just for the winter. Sounds like you are already doing the right things.

He said he was gonna post about it, but haven't seen that yet.
