I'll have to check with my date book aka the wife. We should be down with a nice run, but I'm kind of limited to Travis.

I'll throw this out there if ya'll want to consider LBJ. If you put in at the free public ramp by the dam, you have a 13 mile run to the bridge. The cove in green is a quiet no-wake zone with plenty of room for a raft up. Orange is a shallow parking spot popular to stop and swim. Pink is Sandy Creek, closest to Devils cove on Travis, but could be pretty quiet by late October.
My place is on the cove in green. I can get a headcount then pickup BBQ or something and we can hang out at my place for a lunch break.
Its still not a lot of lake to offer, but it solves the other logistics problems of food and launching.

LBJ is a great lake as well. My Grandparents had a lake house in Sunrise Beach. I slit time in my younger years on LBJ, Travis and Georgetown. hopefully I will have a boat in October and can join y'all!

I'm down for a Lake LBJ run. That is a pretty cool lake, and I'm sure in Oct., we will probably pretty much have it to ourselves. My brother in law boats on that lake, and there are some shallow spots, but I think they are pretty well marked.

No doubt it will be quiet (except for us). I can give you all a map of the shallow spots to avoid, I know it pretty well now. I used to run my 30' cruiser up this route including up to my dock without issues.

Hey someone that has a place on the lake and BBQ sounds like a plan to me. We should invite Bob and Tanner to this! It would be great if he'd bring his Heat out.

Because I'm dry stacked and don't have a diesel to pull it yet. I think the avalanche will die going to marble falls.

I have also recommended this before but it has been some time. Rent a u haul box van. They have hitches and can pull a boat easily and then you turn it in after the weekend. Just an idea!

LBJ sounds pretty cool, never been there, open to traveling. How's the parking near the house/dock? Fit all of us tied off together?
AND BBQ, that there is very inviting!!! lol
Although we do want to max the turnout.
How many Travis boats can make LBJ?

Boat parking is probably best rafted up in the cove depending on how many of us there are. I have a big anchor I can put out as a raft up starter. I could put 2-3 boats at my dock and one to each dock on either side if folks wanted to come all the way in to shore. Its about 3-4ft though right at my dock but 15' in the cove. I can shuttle folks to and from though easily in my mastercraft. it seats 12. Raft up spot to my dock would probably be no more than 50' away
Also in that cove actually is a city park so there is more seating and car parking than my place.
There is a good BBQ place in Kingsland I can pick up bulk food from. Actually just did this weekend before last. I had about 40 people at my place and put an order in and set it out. I could probably serve ribs/brisket/sausage/sides/etc. for $15/head.
The cove is primarily weekenders and its seen some decent parties, but I'd want to keep it kinda civil nonetheless as these are my neighbors. I'm sure they'd get a kick out of the go-fast raft up. I could one up my neighbor that has a seaplane buzz his dock on occasion.

Much appreciated!!! I'm hoping to have something by then but I'm a major slacker during boat season and I'm very picky.
