UPDATED 4.4.14

It's that time of the year, time to start putting some events on the calendar.

Let's kick off this spring with a run on Lake Travis! Let's get everyone together at 12:00 PM on April 19.

Some preliminaries:

The Gnarly Gar is open for business so we'll meet up around Starnes Island. Once we have everyone assembled we'll have a spirited run up the lake and we'll meet up for lunch at the Gnarly Gar.

After lunch we'll run further up the lake and then back to Devil's Cove to relax/socialize.

If by some bizarre miracle happens and we have rain, the B plan will be to meet up at the Iguana Grill (http://www.iguanagrillaustin.com/) and enjoy a view of the lake while we hang out.

I am not sure ehat the ramps look like, but I have seen the numbers on the news. Looks to be up higher than it was last year when we ran. Highland Lakes Marina can be a bit hairy, but we are all very helpful in keeping each other off the rocks.

I posted what they look like recently. I wouldn't think twice about launching at Highland Lakes. Any driver worth a darn can handle coming off the trailer.

Was thinking of Lakeway on the south side. I then realized, this across from the Gnarly Gar, I would miss the first half of the run.  Capt could you PM me the best route into or only route into Highland off of 183.

for $35 in/out, anyone can launch from Emerald Point Marina, adjacent to the old Carlos N' Charlies.  That's what I've done lately when pulling the Nordic or Bass Cat for my LOTO trips this past Summer and Fall.

I think what the people really need to know is...are you going to bring one of your fleet out for a run with us?

That is a good question Evan. So, are we gonna get to finally get to meet up I2D? Its usually a fun run. Hopefully we get a few new participants this year. Especially since we are down one Greg.

Was just reading an old thread and realized Capt made a comment / inference to 4 x4 on Highland Lakes ramp.  Does the ramp require 4 x 4??  May need an assist if that is the case.

Yea I think the sign is still up for 4x4 only. But that's really all ramps right now. We can swap trailers no problem if need be.

I'm hoping to make the spring run. Got a long way to go. Engs and drives are out but haven't pulled the gimble rings yet. A stubborn oil leak on my car has been taking up all my free time the last 4 weeks.

Hoping the ramp will be useable with 2wd

I wouldn't worry about that. We have a great group of guys. We launched my boat one year when I had a 2wd car Smiley Ted (Tyranni) stepped up and put her in the water for me.
