Hard Water Spots- Lake Travis
Jan 9th, 2014 at 9:49pm

Please help!  I have a boat on Lake Travis and the water spots are just terrible.  I have used Hula and it works great but it's just too expensive to use every time I go boating.  What about any home remedies like Vinegar/Water?

Any help would be appreciated!

have you tried hula care's spot remover?  other than that home remedies will depend on the size of the spots and the gel coat on the boat.  one that works on one boat may not work on another.

Do you wipe your boat down after every time you use it? That's definitely the best way to keep them down. Whenever I get off the lake I hand everyone a towel.

Water vinegar works pretty well. Every now and then a good waxing with a cleaner wax does the trick too. Also helps keep them away longer too.

Vinegar and water will work but it will strip the wax off the surface and make future water spots harder to remove.

Like Capt YARRR said a good coat of wax or sealant will reduce water spots from sticking.

If you like Gnarly Water Spot Remover be sure to look at this product packaged in Gallons which makes it cost effective.

We will be at the Austin Boat Show starting Thursday thru Sunday and will have some show special pricing which offers an added discount.
