Gnarley Gar Closing?

Heard from some lake friends last night that GG will be closing soon. The whole operation needs to be moved further out into the channel. With summer ending, and the costs to move being ~$100K, they have decided to shut down. Looks like Volente will be one of the only spots left on Travis..

That sucks!! Is there no hope for Lake Travis? Is there no Justice? Fingers crossed for 40 days and 40 nights of rain.

Just a rumor, but it came from a pretty reliable source.

It was on KXAN news. The next time the need to move it access becomes an issue. I don't recall the level but it was only a few feet away.

I can't blame them...that's a crap load of hamburgers to pay for that. Definitely a shame though. Hope it doesn't come to that.

Well, that ruins the ABF Spring Fling.... othis year would have been the 3rd annual.
Evan, I see you asking some Qs on OSO about the EcoBoost. You planning on getting a truck to be able to maneuver that beauty to other lakes? You can borrow my Dodge to see if you like the Cummins

Maaaaaybe
I did drive a Cummins and I liked it a lot. Decided it would be tough to park in the medical centers that I visit all week for work.
Decided on an Eco Boost max tow 4x4. Looks like it should do well for me.

It's definitely possible, but when you make 8-10 stops a day...it would get old. If I towed more than a handful of times a year it would be worth it!

I read an article where they towed an 8k lbs boat with the eco boost, and it got a whopping 7 mpg. I average about 15 pulling the Nordic which with trailer weighs in the same.
Just saying lol. Either way, you gonna make it up my way sometime when you get a truck?

make sure that a half ton can handle your boat. if it was me I would not go under a 3/4 ton to pull your boat.

on a second note a dodge 2500 quad cab with the cummins is about the same size as the f150 crew cab. so that takes care of the size issue.
