Pics LOTO Shootout Street Party

Here's a link to some fantastic pics from the street party / meet and greet that went down yesterday.  This year, rather than holding this event along the "strip" in Lake Ozark, they moved this to a very nice park on my side of the lake....just 10 minutes from my shack.  Lucky, lucky me.

Nice. I have been all over the country at race sites over the last 25 years. LOTO shoot out is in a class of its own. Only Desert Storm in Havasu can rival the level of boating enthusiasm.

I would venture to say there will be more boats in the flotilla there then there are boats in Travis on a  holiday weekend when the lake is full.

Wow that is awesome! Looks like you are having a blast. I'll be looking forward to your personal pics!

Looks like one hell of a showing from Outerlimits.

I just looked up what it costs to rent an F-250. Really damn reasonable. We may need to talk about a road trip next year.

Jim's right....this event...and in many ways this lake as a whole...is in a class by itself.  Reading the event program last night, it's billed as the largest unsanctioned boat "race" in the country.  That said, I've been to several Desert Storms (including the very first one), and that event has grown enormous, and as an "unsanctioned" event as well, it is right up there with the shootout in terms of "very large".

You're right about Outerlimits bringing the big show.  IMO, definitely has the most factory hardware here (including the transportation that got it here).  Over the top doesn't quite do justice to some of the set-ups here.   Crazy.

Forgot to mention...woke up this morning, early as usual around 6A.  Sitting on the balcony screened porch drinking coffee, heard some guys running hard in the main channel, so decided I'd jump in the boat and motor on over and watch.  Sat there for about an hour, and was treated to about 10 fly-bys by some very impressive 40' Skaters, a couple of MTI's, and a Supercat.  Just guessing, but I'd say they were doing mild tune-up runs of around 130-150MPH, maybe getting ready for the poker run tomorrow morning.

Can't think of a better way to spend an early Thursday morning than kicking back in the Nordic, on the main channel of LOTO, 7AM, comfortable weather, sipping coffee and watching cats fly by.   I should figure out a way do this year-round.

Nice.. Its good to be you.

It must be the largest continuous raft up in the world as well. What do you figure a two mile chain or is it longer?

The only bad thing about that place is you can spend the better part of a million dollars on a boat and not stand out. Hard to believe but, 120 mph boat there is still just a boat in the crowd.

True....which places my reliable 64.5 mph top-end somewhere near the tail end of that crowd...where I'm happy to hang and endure the backwash.

For those not watching the shootout, My May did break the record this am, 224mph.  Best run yesterday for My Way was 209, which tied the record.  Congrats My Way.

Heard in a post event interview that one turbine was pulling harder than the other and Bill had to hold some rudder. With the engs balanced, they think it will run ~240. WOW!!!
