Hmm. Seems to me the motors you have now do a great job -- but if new/upgraded motor work is in your future...you better not skimp.

Your boat will thank you, and I'll have another reason to look forward to the sweet sound of thumping big blocks to look forward to as you go blazing by my house in all your bada$$-self glory.

Evan...if you do a motor upgrade and go with anything less than 525's, I might have to dole out a firm public reprimand.

I'm betting you broke a ring land. That's what happened to mine (before I bought it). If your valves and cyl walls are OK, you might get it back on the water relatively cheap.

I did a compression test and one cylinder is down to 30.

Surprises me that it is down on compression when it idles smoothly and revs smoothly as well. No smoke either. I used both engines to put it on the trailer in the wind yesterday, worked really well.

It's a bummer, it's a low hour engine, not ragged out and I've maintained it as well as you could.

I know a lot of people that use them and have nothing but good things to say. Did they give ya an estimate on the turn-around time? From what I hear, they are really busy right now.
