Were hoping my wife could get the 5th off so we could go stay the night on the lake and watch all the various fireworks... but alas, her job SUCKS. Oh well. Fort Hood is lighting off their set about 1/2 mile from my front door, so we will be able to see all.

My parents are taking my kids with them to jellystone rv park in tyler starting tomorrow. they want us to come up there but I do not know if I want to drive 3 hours there and back to just stay for a little amount of time. I too have to work on Friday.

This is our first year to watch it from the water. We were planning on watching VIP's fireworks. Anyone have tips on best place to anchor? Thinking just north of Starnes Island.

Were were then planning to hustle over to Lakway and catch their show at 10:00. http://www.cityoflakeway.com/index.aspx?NID=718
Anyone tried to make both shows? Anyone know best place to watch Lakeway?

Reply #6 - Jul 2^nd, 2013 at 11:24am Last year, boaters filled the entire basin around Starnes, up Sandy Creek and in front of Lake Travis Marina. I had the pleasure of towing an 80ft houseboat through all of it in 25mph winds. No fun.

I heard there was supposed to be another fireworks display Friday up river somewhere.
