I will definitely be out on that weekend. But because it gets crazy, I try to limit my time traveling so I'll probably just go right from my dock to the cove.

Sounds like fun but, I will not be out in my boat. I will be attending to my customers. If I were out in my boat I would make sure put a 100 miles on her. And a hundred more on Sunday. Not just a short put to the cove.

Memorial Day talk. I hope to enjoy it for a change.
I don't usually get to enjoy the lake until August.

Why did you buy a boat made for running only to skip the best days on the water when there's enough traffic on the lake to stir things up a bit? "Crazy" is a relative term and the cove would be the place to avoid. That Sunny is probably begging for an ass-whippin'.

I am out every weekend doing exactly that. Like today, looks like it is going to be fantastic! Going to be making a run up past the Gar and back for the lunch. Taking one weekend off isn't a tragedy. Speaking of boats needing some ass hauling, where are you two this weekend?
The only thing worse than a "cove dweller" is a boater with a boat on the trailer.

You hit the nail on the head... "boater"
If you must know, my ragged out whore of a motor is getting a refresh. I started to feel sorry for the ole girl after 5 seasons of torture and figured it was time to let her know I still care. According to the tell tale in the ecm she had over 200hrs above 4000rpm so it was time. How many trips to the Gar and back can you fit inside 200hrs? See you on the lake!

That engine sure took good care of you! That's great. Definitely time to give her some TLC. Doing any upgrades or just a straight refresh?
Let me know if you need your lake fix before she's done, I'd be happy to save you a spot on one of our runs.

Hey all. Happy Memorial Day. Reporting to you dockside from Casa de In2Deep LOTO, aka Lake Shack North -- at the 2MM of the Gravois Arm. Been here a 7 days, after watching my daughter graduate Mizzou on Friday.
This is my first Memorial Day weekend at LOTO since 2007 -- so feeling pretty lucky. Saw the chatter above about running versus coving -- and let me tell you, running LOTO on a holiday weekend is a true test of one's boating ability. One of a kind. As usual, the parade of crazy awesome fiberglass is something to behold -- and talk about "stirring things up" -- this place defines all that. Jim can attest.
Dragged the bass boat up here, and fished every day during the week before the onslaught. Paradise is all I can say. I even caught a few bass, with a nice big crappie for variety. Decided I'd check out the fishing boat's ability to deal with the choppiest of choppy waters. I didn't sink - which was the objective -- so had a successful test. That said, I've done it once now....and won't repeat the experiment.
Headed back to Austin tomorrow. Glad to hear it rained some. Keep it coming. I'll try to bring some with me.
Later

Congrats on the graduation. I am sure you are as proud as can be! Sounds like a pretty solid boating weekend as well. I bet that felt like a rodeo at times
Went out Sunday here, did a good bit of cruising since I had a much lighter crew than normal. Had nobody in the bow so I was free to get after it a bit. Great combination of a good amount of wind and plenty of big boats making for quite the washing machine. Pretty entertaining driving.
