Grab your kids and loved ones, get out of the water, and for God's sake Chief Brodey, please close the beaches.

6lb LMB I caught yesterday.  I think I may be getting the gist of this fishing thing -- or just got very lucky for a beginner.  Landing this slab was a thrill.

To be honest...I'm LOVING the outboard world, and I'm feeling REALLY good that I stepped up and bought a bass boat that could -- and does -- double as a performance boat.

I'm still getting used to this beast, and need much more seat and practice time before I try to hang it out there more, but I touched 72MPH Saturday afternoon GPS (boat has GPS speedo mounted in the dash, and GPS in the Humminbird unit at the helm.  Both read exactly the same speed.

I know for a fact my boat under the right conditions, and with a highly skilled driver, is capable of more than that.  Some claim 79-80, but I'm skeptical.  75 is totally within reach.

This all has me thinking that a great performance boat for Travis would be a 26 DCB with twin 300X's.  Oh my. Cheesy

Not sure where the pussycats are, but there are definitely some large ones out there.  Sorry, but I'm not into catfish so I can't be of much help -- but fishing as you described sounds like a good time.  I2D
