Merry Christmas and Hello

Hi all. I already recognize a few here. My name is Jared. I live in Bastrop and normally boat on Travis, and I mainly participate with the Lake Travis Power Boat Association. My last trip to Lake Travis was in August. The ramp at Mansfield had closed to one lane and I sat in line for two hours. Currently running a Formula Fastech 312 which may soon be gone. I look forward to checking out the website here.

I love the Formula!! Yes, I have my eye on something else. It was on the market when I had my Checkmate but I had to sell that first. Same problem again. This is my ride. Doing some winter time touch up now.
Poker running
This was my previous boat. Still running Travis.

Oh yes, I've seen both your boats. I think I see your old boat more than yours though! But that paint scheme is hard to miss.
Nathan, what about Checkmate has caught your eye so much? There's not a lot of them around here.

The construction of the hulls. being hand layed it is lighter than most hulls. plus that the design cuts through water and can get higher speeds with smaller power. i just love the design and have always wanted one.

That boat was kick ass with the 496 I had. Ran it all over the place in 2006 and 2007. Ran 62 all day. Then I thought I needed bigger power. Then all hell broke loose. Bought some problem child 500 efi and it was bound to cause some problems everytime out for the next few summers. Put a 496 back in it and sold it the next week. 2012 has been the best summer I have had in a long time. The only problem I had with the formula was a relay for the trim pump on my trip out. Checkmate would have been a sweet boat with a nice 525 efi. I had put full hydraulic steering and eddie marine tabs. I loved that boat, and I love the Formula also. But its time for a 35er.

Each to their own. I have been on fountains and I just did not like them but that is my opinion.

I may take you up on that! I need some travis time. when I do get a checkmate it will most likely be on of their outboard versions. either a bowrider or their 2800 models that is a cabin boat with twin outboats. I want to stick with outboards for now on.
