Sorry for the noise, Lake LBJ homeowners :-)

No posts in the section lately, so here we go::::

My trailer saga continues and after an axle problem prevented a boat trip in the Gulf Coast this weekend, I finally picked up the boat from the trailer place and dragged it up to Lake LBJ for some WOT runs with Mobilemercman.

We were both curious about how new plugs on both motors and removing the skeg guards and refinishing the skegs would affect the top end and RPM.  Before the work, at WOT I was seeing only 4400 RPM on one motor and 4800 on the other and 75-ish MPH.  After:  ~5000 both motors and running a solid 83.

A couple vids:

LBJ has a nice ramp too....

Very cool. Nathan, that's the ramp at the Dam, right next to LBJ yacht club and marina. Great ramp, long and wide with just a few fishing boats coming in and out.
I know it well as that's where I'm docked. I would have been the only other boat out there with you today but the boat currently is at Hurst Harbor with Scott getting a new bottom paint. Sorry to miss you.  Ya'll all should consider LBJ since the weather is still great.  Since labor day its been a ghost town.

Capt Y, so true....We definitely were amused Cheesy
As Kenneth Gramme wrote, "there is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."
