Getting that dark spider goo off
Dec 23rd, 2011 at 8:51am

Before storing the boat for winter with the tarp, I want to get rid of all the crap that has fallen onto our boat from the marina spraying the "die spiders die" sauce. Most of it comes off with the brush but it seems the residual will take more effort.

What technique works best here to clean it up? I believe I have the cleaners necessary (soap, cleaners, polishers, etc) but not sure if there's a way to save on the elbow grease.

there are several products on the market specifically formulated to remove spider poo.   Work pretty well.  I've usually just used some fiberglass cleaner/polish, and followed-up with wax.

If the spider poop is not too dry a cleaner wax can remove it. Otherwise any solvent or liquid you may use will strip the boat of any wax and you will have to re wax the boat.
