Boat Slips on Lake Austin

Why are boat slips on Lake Austin so scarce? I'm looking for a slip for a somewhat larger pontoon boat 25' --- but have not seen anything. Marina is full and I'm wait listed, but are there other options? Checked out a park but the hours are prohibitive for me. Any ideas/suggestions are welcome! Thx.

It seems that once people put there boat on lake austin they dont take them off. plus that with the small size of the lake limits the amount of marinas and space. other than trailering the boat or going to river (lake) travis I would look around while on the lake every now and then you canfind someone with a boat house willing to rent out their extra slip. also watch craiglist for this same thing. welcome to the forum

I would definitely be making Craigslist part of my daily routine. As Nathan mentioned, it's a smaller lake and there's high demand so it will be tough to find open spots (as you know now). But you do see with semi-regularity someone renting a slip or an extra spot on their private dock. Being as you have a pontoon, you might want to post a wanted ad on Craigslist to see if you can tie to the side of someone's dock if you are comfortable with that.

I was at Paradise Cove Marina yesterday hanging out with a buddy, sounds like the same situation. Lots of twists and turns on narrow roads. That road just looks like a drinking car accident waiting to happen. It's already a sober car accident waiting to happen.
