LOTO Report
Jul 3rd, 2011 at 7:10am

Greetings from Lake of the Ozarks (LOTO).

4th of July holiday is probably the busiest weekend of the year up here.   Went out on the water yesterday, and the usual mix of 40'-50' cruisers, 28 - 42 go-fasts, and a fine assembly of old school lake boats all over the place.   With some of the roughest water in the country -- the lake lived up to its reputation.   Washing machine effect by mid-day.  Fantastic.
Coved-out with some friends in the afternoon, and beat the 96 degrees of 85% humidity (not a typo).  Perpetual persperation, but nothing some cold beers and 10 gallons of water can't alleviate.   Tuned-up for tonight's fireworks off the dock show -- with some random samples out of the box of aerial displays we picked up at a huge fireworks stand in Laurie.

Going to be another great day at LOTO.  I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Update, Dateline LOTO, 7/4 10:41A

Fireworks on the water last night, sponsored by Four Seasons Lodge, was nice.   With severe thunderstorm warnings in effect North and South of the viewing site -- it was a little bit of a nail biter -- but we ended up with just a light rain for a few minutes, and a solid 30 MPH breeze as the front moved through.

Today is starting out with temps in the 80's, clear skies, and a light breeze from the NE -- which is keeping things a bit cooler this morning.  High today is supposed to be 94, 50% humidity.  This is the forecast for the next few days.

Wow, apparently we should shut up complaining about the heat here Smiley

Travis was surprisingly calm this weekend, the washing machine effect was fairly minor.

You should post some pictures from LOTO. Jealous you get some fireworks!
