Lake Travis - during drought and after rain

I took some pictures this July of the lake towards the bottom of the drought in Jonestown. Last weekend I took a spin out there to see how things have improved. Here's a little before and after!
This is the exact same spot. The ramp is completely missing and I love that

Wow that's a really significant difference. Now that you've seen it low, you know what obstacles to avoid I bet.

You can't even recognize the lake after picture three, it's night and day.

Drove past Lake Travis on 620 Sunday and couldn't believe the difference.
I didn't see Sometimes Island and there were hundreds of blow boats out there. Must of been a regatta?
Looking good!

If they were still out there at 3:00, they set some freakin speed records. I was at the marina when the front blew in and it all but blew me off the finger.

I was entertaining ideas of getting out on the water on Sunday and holy hell that wind starting blowing my trees sideways. That changed my mind.
Oh well, one weekend closer to warmer weather!

I went out on Sunday, around noon. The lake looks great. Amazing what a difference. This is the highest level I've seen since moving here.
Got off the lake about 30 minutes before the front moved in. Didn't see that one coming. Spoiled my afternoon motorcycle ride idea.
