Title: Let it Rain "II"
Post by 97FASTech on Oct 15th, 2013 at 12:27pm
According my daily tracking of lake level, Canyon got roughly a 6 inch bump in the water level. This is good news because at the current release rate, this is 2 weeks of water.  The more back to back rain we get, the greater the run off will be, if the ground is saturated already.

Again "Let it Rain".

That's great news.  Let's keep it coming.  Raining hard in Lakeway at this moment.

Well from a year low of -12.11, the lake has recovered to -11.59.

Come on more rain, please.

The rain has put 2.75 feet of water in Canyon as of this morning. Hoping it will go a little higher.

Now the level is   899.88 /  -9.12 low.

Yesterday          897.21  /      -11.79

Congrats.  That's awesome.  Travis is catching a bit of rise as well.  Was up 6" in a day as reported yesterday.  We'll see what it does with the latest round -- though we missed the heaviest fall.

That's great!!  I wish the rain we had around here would have helped but Waco has barely rose any.

Maybe the annual ABF early spring run could take place at Canyon? Just a thought.

Well, it lasted as long it could, but the Lake is again in decline:  901.65         -7.35

Need those winter rain storms.

Maybe I shouldn't have waterproofed the boat cover.  The repellant might be acting like the force shield around Lake Travis.

After another week of spotty rain the Lake seems to be holding at about the same level, but down just a tad:    901.64      -7.36

Still got a lot of rainy winter left! Hopefully it keeps going. Looks like most of the area lakes keep filling until around March.

Been delinquent with my weekly update.

So, as far as Lake Level today it is staying pretty much the same since Nov 5th, lost a little but overall not as significant as it was losing this past summer.

901.52      -7.48

From what I've seen from the water, Potters Creek looks like a very popular camping / RV place.  It does have a ramp, just not sure when it becomes unusable at what lake level.  Quick phone call should have you an answer when and if you decide to come down.

End of the Month update:  Jan net loss of   -0.32 ft       -3.84 in.

Lake level as of today:  901.10      -7.90

Everyone is going to have to help Capt Yarrr do his Rain Dance.

Although I hear he is contributing to the  level by the hose, two engines now running, exhaust spitting  water and singing the high performance song!!!

Catch any of that today?

It rained it's ass off today in Dallas while I was working...but of course my lawn was dry when I get home. Got some a few minutes ago but looks like the lake was missed as usual.

Looks as if Canyon Lake got about three days (.05") worth of a reprieve with the system that went through the last two days.  This is at the current release rate of 55cfs.   -9.20'
