Title: Newbie
Post by 97FASTech on Mar 3rd, 2013 at 9:38am
Morning all!  Just got approved for ABF site.  I'm a transfer from OSO, been boating on Canyon for 15 years and did not realize this forum was here also, my loss.

Live in Houston but store all the toys at Joint Base SA at the Lake.

I now boat with a 97 FASTech, prior was a pair of Seadoo's and rental ski boats.

First outing on Canyon will be Easter weekend, holler if your out and about.

:D

Welcome!  Good to have you here.

I live in San Antonio, but boat mostly at Travis.

Do you launch at JBSA rec area as well?  How is the ramp situation with Canyon 9 feet low?

Canyon Lake Marina, which has a deep-water ramp, just closed their ramp to non-members, so I figured that would put an end to any quick trips to Canyon lake for me.

JBSA has very shallow ramps, both have been closed since last spring. However, with my annual or just a day pass for JBSA, one can use Jacobs creek ramps. Or for non-military Jacobs creek is $6 for day pass and launch fee.  Another option is a free ramp by Sunchaser Marine, these ramps are still open.  Launched my Seadoo's when the lake was 16' low, but I could see the end of the ramp at Jacobs Creek.  Now that I have the larger trailer and require a little more ramp, I don't know how low is too low yet. I'll update around Easter. One last thing, Sunchaser free ramp has no courtesy dock, but is a very deep ramp.  I launch a lot by myself, so this is a no option for me.

Thanks, hope to meet up with people this year.

271 97 FASTech with HP500, rebuilt by Full Throttle Marine in May 2011.  Runs nice, but a little loud.

Beautiful boat! Glad you made it to our site. It's always more fun to post with local people.

The only thing that seems to snag people on uploading pictures here is that there is a 1500 kb file limit. It is rather huge actually, but all you need to do to make them fit is shrink them.

Welcome aboard.  Not sure how I missed this thread earlier this month.  Very nice boat.  I think the FasTec's are one of the best boats out there.  Sweet ride, and will look great on LT.  I2D
