Hey there! Welcome to the site. This is a great place to learn about boats, the local lakes and meet people to hang out with on the lake. Glad to have you.

what are you wanting to do?  cruise the lake slow for fast?  spend the night or the day?  yachts and houseboat don't do much besides go from point a to b then you just stop.

VIP marina rents just about anything.

in fact i have no license for any boat, so that would constrain us. A cruise is not the thing we like cause that means too much people around us, so i think a houseboat is the most realistic thing

in texas you do not have to have a license to drive any boat.  the only time you need a license is if you are payed to operate a boat. there are no constrains on what you can operate.  as long as you are over 18 you can drive any boat on the water.

@ nathan that sounds really good. perhaps we want to rent a yacht or something similar. we already found a provider ( http://www.yachtico.com/ ) does anybody knows this one? is it good?

I have never heard of them and it looks like a search site like hotel.com. i would contact the place that you will rent from. you will probably have a better picture of what will be provided for your dollar that way.

I'd call around the marinas here long before a site like that.
