Title: upcoming water test.
Post by nathan on Oct 3rd, 2012 at 8:32pm
Ok Lake Waco is at 459.52 ft of 462 ft.  and this weekend I am taken lil red out for a water test to see how everything runs.  ;)  if all goes well I will get closer to making my boat repair path.  but will not make my mind up until I go back to my parents on the 13th and can assess the exact state of the chaparral as it has been sitting for the last could years

the floor is in but thats it.  I am mostly taking it to see if it floats and runs right.  and see what else it needs.  I am going to but this back together and use it as I work on the chaparral.  I want the chaparral done when I am ready to swap the engine so that I loses as little time on the water as possible.  i hope this time to not uncover as many germlins as I have before.  ;)

If all goes well I plan to run it on the trailer.  then if there are no leaks then I will take it off and see how it runs.  it will be fun to get on the water again!

well it floats, buts it keeps shutting off when trying to get to speed.  If I set it at 2000 rpms it will it will stay there for a minute then idle down then shut off.  I can't tell if it is getting no gas or to much.  I will probably replace the fuel filter and try again.  I have already rebuilt the carb.
